Thursday's 2-4pm (6th - 27th Feb)
Join us for a 4-Week Textile Workshop Series led by an experienced and passionate tutor who has taught textiles in mainstream education for many years. Perfect for beginners and enthusiasts alike, these relaxed and friendly sessions are designed to help you learn, create, and have fun while developing your skills.
Each week, alongside learning a new fabric manipulation technique I will introduce you to a contemporary artist to gain inspiration from.

Workshop Schedule
Week 1:Trapunto – Learn the Italian quilting method of this timeless craft.
Week 2:Gathering – Explore techniques to add dimension and texture to your projects.
Week 3:Appliqué – Master the art of adding shapes, patterns, and interest to your work.
Week 4:Quilting - Take your quilting skills to the next level with exciting design ideas.
Elaine Foster-Gandey is an accomplished artist and textiles educator with over 40 years of professional experience in the fashion and art industries. Having worked with prestigious brands and successfully operated her own fashion retail company, Elaine combines her industry expertise with her creative passion to inspire and empower her students.
In 2023, Elaine showcased her work at the renowned Venice Biennale, reflecting her ongoing dedication to artistic innovation and excellence. Her teaching is deeply rooted in her own journey, blending practical techniques with conceptual exploration in mixed media and textiles. Elaine’s workshops are a dynamic space where creativity flourishes, offering invaluable insights from her decades of experience.
Her students consistently achieve remarkable success in their careers, a testament to her ability to nurture talent and instill confidence.
