Threads of inspiration: Fabric portraits of Female artists exhibition

Threads of Inspiration: Fabric Portraits of Female Artists by Elaine Foster-Gandey at Lambs Gallery Lostwithiel, UK - A date for your diary, my solo exhibition "Threads of Inspiration: Fabric Portraits of Female Artists" is on the whole of August and features work that has been in the making since 2020. I lost a lot of my teaching work in lockdown due to the pandemic and a mixture of isolation and feeling invisible as a female artist drove me to creating new work. The portraits were made alongside my Hope -weaving communities together project. The exhibition features portraits of famous artists including Tracey Emin, Yayoi Kusama, Rose Wylie, Sonia Boyce, Vivienne Westwood and many more using a cut through embroidery technique.  The works celebrate the creativity and influence of renowned female artists.

Artworks are for sale and portrait commissions are available, please make enquiries at the gallery. Digital prints are available to purchase of the artwork on show at the gallery, A4 £5, A3 £10, mugs £16, pens £3 and postcards £2.
